Well I am disappointed to say that while the Canberra wedding season is happening now, the weather has been atrocious! I have already conducted several October weddings and have felt sorry for all of my Brides' and Grooms' who have frozen their little butts off during their gorgeous outdoor ceremonies... Having said that, you would never have known because they were all so blissfully happy and madly in love that it could have been snowing and they wouldn't have noticed! God I love being a celebrant :)

Looking forward to conducting more ceremonies throughout the rest of the 2016 wedding season but still haven't locked in a booking for New Years Eve! Marrying someone on NYs is on my bucket list so if you are thinking about a romantic NYE wedding, then call me now... I would love to be your celebrant xo

Well it already feels like its been a very long and cold winter and for celebrant's, this is our down time. Not many brides choose to get married in winter, however I did do a gorgeous wedding for Kiah and Brad last weekend! Mind you, we were all wearing thermals under our good clothes lol. It is going to be a busy wedding season and I am SUPER excited at all of the weddings I am going to get to do... I am marrying some truly lovely couples and it's going to be an honour to write their very special wedding ceremonies! Aside from trying to stay on the lounge under my heated throw rug as much as possible, I have also spent the last few weekends meeting new couples who are getting married in 2017! I can't believe how close it is.... if you're getting married in the Feb/Mar wedding season then I strongly recommend that you sort your celebrant out now! The good ones will be gone before you know it... To those of you who I'm not marrying in the coming months, good luck! I hope you all have an awesome day! Okay, so as this cheeky photo indicates, your wedding should be exactly the way you want it to be. When choosing your photographer it's important to pick someone that is similar to you and will do whatever it is you want them to do. Choosing a celebrant should be exactly the same. There are a lot of us out there so a lot of brides shop around to find the cheapest celebrant they can find. Some people think that they are better saving money on the celebrant and spending it on the glitz and glamour of their reception.... Many people I speak to say they remember the wedding ceremony with much more detail and fondness then they ever do the reception. Trust me, guests remember a ceremony where the celebrant has 'nailed' the bride and groom's relationship and inserted insightful and meaningful bits and pieces about them into the ceremony.... So my tip to everyone out there planning a wedding is approach choosing your celebrant in the same way that you do other significant things such as your venue and your photographer. We're all equally as important and together we will make your perfect day! (P.S. Seriously, how great is this photo??? What an awesome bride and groom!)

Well we are sliding into the depths of winter and although it's starting to get freaking cold, I'm happy to report that there are still lots of brides out there doing their thing and being super organised by booking their celebrant early! As a Virgo (i.e. someone who has OCD when it comes to organisation lol) I have great respect for the brides out there that are thinking months ahead! For me, that means I've been a busy little bee meeting new people (yay! I love to do that) and hearing some interesting stories about how everyone met. As a celebrant, I have to say that the thing I love most about this job (well aside from the actual wedding day ceremony!) is coming home from a meeting and reading the answers that my brides' and grooms' have put in their Couple Quiz which I ask them to complete. Seriously, it melts my little heart when I read some of the things that you write... most of the time the bride and groom have written very similar things... just said them in different ways. I love it. It makes me smile every time!

So with the 2015/16 wedding season over and done I have put some time into setting up my office and I have to say it is looking great! My color theme is pink (of course!) and white! Will post a photo shortly so you can see where I sit, hard at work, to write your very special ceremonies. One of the other things I'm focussing on over winter is to increase my business profile so you may have seen some of my advertising on social media. A HUGE thanks to everyone who has 'liked' my FB page or taken the time to visit my website. It means a lot to me. Okay, well speaking of ceremonies I should really go and write one! I have a naming day coming over for a gorgeous little girl so I should go and spend some time working on that. Hi Guys, well it has been another big week. I have FINALLY put together my Facebook page - well the shell of it's there and all I have to do is add some content lol. Main thing is that it's live and people can start liking it so my online presence can become bigger... Man, it's hard to get your business in a Google search when you are not an IT guru! In other big news this week I completed a two day First Aid course so if anything happens at your big event, rest assured I will be on hand to help... giving mouth to mouth to Zac Efron lookalikes would be my preference (hehehehe) but I will do whatever needs to be done. I hope all of you guys are having a good week too and look forward to meeting some of you in the future!

Hello again! So it was a busy weekend last weekend with the Baby/kids Market at EPIC on Saturday morning and the Lifeline Bookfair on Friday-Sunday! The Baby/kids Market was very popular and it was great to see so many pregnant mums-to-be out and about shopping for a bargain and lots of newborn babies too! Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hi and take one of my cards. I hope to hear from each of you soon!

The Bookfair was an amazing success. The volunteers work soooooo hard to make this a special event for booklovers and this year we beat our record and raised more then half a million dollars. It costs approximately $26 to answer each call that comes into Lifeline so this will enable Lifeline to continue to support people in distress. Thanks to everyone who came along!

Well my friends it has been a big week in toon-town this week! I received my first booking under my new business name, set up my new office (which you will be pleased to know is all white with pink accessories!) AND I booked a stand at the Canberra Baby Kids Market which is being held at EPIC on Saturday 13 February 2016.

I am seriously excited about meeting lots of new people and potential customers at the Markets so please make sure you come along and say hi and get a free chocolate if you're going to be there. I'm in booth number 27 but I'm sure you won't miss me as my plan is to be surrounded by pink!

Also, a quick reminder that the Lifeline Bookfair is also on next weekend at EPIC. If you're going to be out that way please come along and buy some really great priced books and meet some of the wonderful volunteers who make the whole event possible. They do a great job and having now worked on one of them myself, I am pleased to say that there are just as many kids at the Bookfair buying books with their pocket money as adults which, in this age of technology is a GREAT thing to see!

I am seriously excited. It's been a really big week for me and my new business. I ordered my gorgeous (and seriously funky!) business cards and other marketing items and tonight I have published my website. As I am still waiting for my official registration as a celebrant to come through from the Attorney General's department, I can't advertise 80% of the services and ceremonies I can offer in the future, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere and for me, that starting point is here! Naming Days here I come... woohoo!!!!

So here I am, with absolutely no idea how to create a website, creating a website! OMG! I can't believe I'm actually doing this. But then the last six months have been filled with things I never thought I'd do. I started this buisness because for the first time in 20 years I found myself living alone and having a lot of spare time. I needed something to help me fill in the time when all of my friends and family were busy living their own lives and looking after their children etc. I started filling my time with establishing my new home (yes, did I mention I bought a new home!!) and building the garden.... that took a fair amount of time but now looks perfect so it was time to find something else to do...

As I love to have a chat and meet new people and LOVE LOVE LOVE to organise things, I thought that this would be a great path for me to follow. I sincerely hope that I meet you on this journey as I really am keen to meet new people and utilise my celebrancy skills.
